Interactive Music Video prototype

Note - you will need the latest version of Flash player (version 9 - download here).

This movie is the latest version of a prototype viral and interactive music video content I've been working on in collaboration with Giles Macleay at my workplace, Logodesign.
The idea is that the user can interact with the music video narrative in a similar way to a computer game. The music that accompanies it is streamed via a Flash FLV movie. The concept encourages the user to engage with the content and hopefully view the movie far more times than they otherwise would with a conventional, linear music video.

The idea of the game at present is to abuse the other motorists as you drive your van along the road, without being caught in the act by the police bike. You can also be pulled over for speeding. To interact with the game, the user moves the mouse across the movie stage - the further to the left the mouse is located, the faster the van drives.Moving the mouse completely off of the movie stage brings the van to a halt. By either clicking the mouse button, or shouting into the computer's microphone(!) the player triggers an abusive outrage represented by a speech bubble that pops up - if a motorist is passing by the van at the time this occurs, the user scores points... so long as they are not caught in the act by the police.

Once the police bike is in pursuit, the user's score becomes void and they cannot score any more points - so to restart the game they must bring their van to a halt and take the rap.

The user can also stream their own face onto the van's driver via a webcam, by clicking on the Webcam button along the bottom of the interface. They can choose to freezeframe their face to minimize the strain of streaming the video into the movie.
